Wedding Photographers

Wedding photography is about more than just a day. It’s about the memories you will cherish for many years to come and the presentation of your photographs that will be passed down from generation to generation. As a wedding photographer I capture the story of your day. The best way I find to do that is by knowing you. Only by knowing what makes you laugh, what makes you cry, whether you are a romantic or spontaneous and full of life, can I create some truly unforgettable images of your wedding day. This makes the difference between good and great wedding photographer. After all it’s your wedding day and it’s all about YOU. After all it’s your wedding day and it’s all about YOU.

What better way to enjoy your wedding photographs then a beautiful bespoke album, one that you are proud to keep on display in your living room for all to see. I like to think my choice of wedding albums offer the best of both worlds. One is a divine modern coffee table book that is uniquely designed specifically to your wedding day. Choices of sleek finished covers are available to make your album the ‘pièce de résistance’. The other album is a luxurious hand mounted leather traditional album. These albums are available in a beautiful selection of covers all in real leather from hard wearing to the most irresistibly soft finish. The layout of your photographs can be as modern or as classic as you would like with a choice of black or ivory mounts.

I believe it is important to feel completely at ease with your wedding photographer. On your wedding day I want my couples to feel like a friend is photographing their wedding, someone they trust and someone that makes them laugh and smile naturally. For this reason my engagements with my bride and groom tend to follow a similar pattern of events, these are not essential, but this is generally what I offer each of my happy couples.

A pre-wedding consultation to discuss your big day. During this meeting I will find out what you want from your wedding photography, how the day will unfold and also importantly to find out more about your personality and your relationship to one another.

A pre-wedding shoot. This can take place at your wedding venue (subject to agreement with the venue). This allows you find out what is involved in being a photographic subject. Most people are not used to being photographed and this experience puts your minds at ease, in fact most find the experience so different to their expectations and have a great time. During this session we will also find out what type of photography works best for you and gives you a chance to see me at work.

This portrait session is followed up with a viewing meeting. You will be able to look through the photographs and comment on the ideas you liked and if there is anything you would like in addition on your wedding day. You will also be able to choose a complimentary 10” x 8” photograph. A lot of couples choose to have their photograph mounted for their guests to sign on their wedding day.

Final consultation or discussion. At this stage we tweak the times for the day to suit yourselves and the venue and a list of requested group photographs is produced. This sometimes coincides with a wedding rehearsal if it is appropriate and practical for me to attend. I like to approach the priest, vicar or registrar before the ceremony to introduce myself, ask their requirements and to show my respect to those carrying out the service.

In the weeks following the wedding I will design a unique custom layout for your chosen album. There is no limit on the number of photographs you can have within the album and I will use the photographs I feel showcase your big day to produce your album design.

After the wedding we will meet at a time that suites you to look through your album design and/or collect any disks, canvases or frames you have pre-ordered. This is typically done once the couple return from their honeymoon. During this time you will be given a paper copy of your album design to approve. Once the design has been approved your album will go into production. After this consultation all edited images will go online onto your own private viewing gallery. Your guests will be given a password during the wedding and will only have access to the gallery after you have seen the photographs. There is an online shop for your guests to purchase photographs and rid you of the hassle of dealing with hundreds of photograph requests.

The Big Day

Coverage can commence with the bridal preparation on the day and can carry on through to the first dance and evening entertainment. By taking a modern approach to photography I combine a mixture of reportage photography and elegant portraits. This helps to tell the story of your day as it unfolds. I will be completely unobtrusive and mingle amongst your guests to get the natural laughter and tears of joy, that you special occasion will create. I whisk you both away for a short time together to allow you to fully indulge in one another and absorb the romance and the emotions of the day.
